Steelcase Leap V2 Review: What’s Special About Its Design?

The Steelcase Leap V2 chair is a sleek office chair with a plastic exterior shell, exposed outside structure, and a variety of color, fabric, and configuration choices.

The parallel slats on the backrest for lumbar support adjustment, sleek rectilinear armrests, and overall modern and straightforward design are all outstanding design features.

Steelcase Leap V2 review

This chair, while modest in appearance, is durable. The simple nylon frame of this Steelcase desk chair can support up to 400 pounds.

Materials

This Steelcase Leap V2 review will point out both materials and colors at the same time.

Steelcase offers dozens of different fabric and leather options for their Leap chairs, allowing you to personalize this model to match any color scheme and design in your office.

For office workers, the 3D knit is the most popular. This is due to the benefits of a 3-layer fabric and cushion design, which provides a combination of breathability and comfort.

The top layer is a high-performance, breathable knit, with a solid fabric that matches the chair’s outer color and a final under-layer of polyester padding for added comfort.

Color Options

If you choose fabric upholstery, color options for this Steelcase Leap V2 chair spread from basic black to brilliant oranges and yellows to deep blues and grays.

On the other hand, leather colors are more confined to neutral and darker colors.

High Quality

The chair’s frame is available in polished aluminum, platinum, or black, all of which complement the chair’s overall style.

You can also choose the style of the arms, headrest, and wheels, allowing you to tailor your Steelcase Leap V2 chair to your specific needs. It’s fantastic to have so many options when it comes to personalizing an office chair.

Leap chairs can support up to 300 pounds of weight without sacrificing performance.

Cushion

Polyurethane foam is used for the backrest and seat cushion, giving a nice balance of comfort and support.

The cushions may appear thinner than typical due to the layering, but they are nonetheless firm and supportive without the bulk.

This is one of the most outstanding features which this Steelcase Leap V2 review considers that it may be an issue with less expensive office chairs.

In addition, the Leap chair is virtually entirely recyclable, which is a fantastic feature.

LiveBack

Steelcase’s unique “LiveBack” technology is used in the backrest of the chair.

As you move or change your positions throughout the day, this feature allows the chair to move and respond to the changing form of your spine.

This is a pretty interesting design feature because it allows for constant movement, even while sitting, which is a sign of modern ergonomic design.

Steelcase Leap V2 Review: How Can It Help You Improve Your Health?

While the Steelcase Leap V2 chair may not appear to be particularly comfy at first glance, its function is wonderful rather than you thought.

Backrest

The Leap office chair excels at providing enough of lower back support, which is something that a decent office chair should have.

The variable back stop and adjustable seat depth, where you may determine the amount of pressure required to support your favorite reclining posture in the chair.

With the adjustable lumbar support, you may modify the hardness of the lower back support as well as the support area for the mid-back.

As you lean back, the chair will adjust automatically as the seat glides back and forth, easing pressure on your knees.

If you want to lean back while thinking, this chair provides adequate support without causing you to lose your balance or putting pressure on your knees by pushing you to raise your feet off the floor.

You can also sculpt your chair into just the correct modifications using the adjustable arms so you can feel comfortable.

Indeed, the solid backrest of Leap is better for someone who needs lumbar support to avoid a hurting back after a long day of sitting.

Seat Adjustment

The seat depth on the Steelcase Leap V2 chair can be adjusted by 3″.

By adjusting the seat’s depth and angle, you can discover a sitting posture that opens up your hip angle and relieves strain on your legs, resulting in improved blood flow and comfort.

4D Adjustable Armrests

Among adjustable features, this Steelcase Leap V2 review will highly have an impression with adjustable armrests.

The ability to totally remove the arms from the Steelcase Leap without compromising the chair’s stability is an intriguing feature.

Armrests on the Steelcase Leap can be adjusted in four directions with traditional telescopic arm designs, which is fantastic.

They can help ease a lot of the tension in our shoulders and necks that we experience throughout the day. Also, they can also assist us in improving our sitting posture.

The Leap’s armrests can be adjusted in four different ways to find the best position for you based on your size, recline and seat pan angle, and desk or table height.

This Steelcase Leap V2 review considers that the ability to adjust the depth of each armrest is also the most outstanding feature. This 4-way adjustability is the key difference when comparing the Steelcase Leap V2 vs V1.

Another unique feature is that there are levers under the seat that modify both the seat height and the horizontal seat position, allowing you to move the seat forward and back.

Steelcase Leap V2 Review: Customer Reviews

Positive Review

Kim B: “Very happy with this chair”

“As a professional day-trader, I am sitting at my trading station for many hours a day. I needed to replace a leather executive office chair that was worn out and that was causing considerable back and rear-end pain (I am of thin build with little rear end padding :-)). I considered the Steelcase Leap 2 vs the Hermon Miller Aeron. I chose the Steelcase because of the more traditional cloth material vs the mesh and reviews I’d read about the comfort of mesh for people like me. The return policy was really attractive as well even though I did not need it. The Leap chair has made a huge difference in dealing with my chronic back and rear end pain. Key to this is the really flexible adjustments for seat depth, back stops, back force, lower back firmness, and lumbar height. I’m very happy with my decision to go with the LEAP v2.”

K: “All of my pain is at bay now that I sit comfortably. I sm actually more productive at work”

“This was worth every penny. Just push the buy botton now. I ordered the rouge red chair and it is gorgeous. I work 12 to 16 hours a day. I had neck & shoulder pain, I have herniated disc in my lumbar and I have coccyx nerve pain in my tailbone. All of my pain is at bay now that I sit comfortably. I sm actually more productive at work.”

Negative Review

Donatello: “Wouldn’t waste the money again!”

“First let me start by saying this chair is extremely comfortable in the back and in the seat. But…two serious problems I’ve run into.

  1. This thing makes a lot of creaking sounds when I lean back. Super annoying.
  2. The armrest pads in this chair are the absolute worst things I’ve ever encountered in a desk chair! Constantly sliding around every time I readjust myself in the chair. There’s no way to lock them in place.

For these two reasons I would never recommend this chair to anyone.

6 MONTH UPDATE…
Still…worst chair I’ve ever owned. The creaking noise is getting worse. Putting this piece of crap up for sale.”

Mark Neudorff: “Nice butt…”

“The chair is built well with very nice features. Unfortunately, the seat is the most uncomfortable I have ever used, and for the amount of money was expecting a more comfortable chair.”
